Livestream of “Sarah Cameron Sunde: 36.5 / A Durational Performance with the Sea”

November 18, 2020, 9:00 - 10:00 am, online

In conjunction with the exhibition of the same name, the museum will offer visitors exclusive virtual access to this video installation through four 24-hour livestream events. These livestreams will feature four of the locations around the world where Sunde performed “36.5.” Each livestream occurs shortly before the three-channel video at the museum shifts from one location to the next. The cyclical nature and extended duration of this virtual event mirrors the natural rhythms and slow timeframe that are central to Sunde’s work, as she stands in ocean water for a full tidal cycle. On Wednesday, November 18, we will stream the performance that took place at the Bay of Bengal, Saint Martin’s Island, Bangladesh, starting at 9 a.m.
