Education Abroad Event Planning Intern Opening
OGE is looking for an Education Abroad Event Planning Intern to join the team!
The Event Planning Intern will assist Office of Global Education (OGE) staff in planning and implementing outreach events to include three principle events: Annual Open House, Fall Education Abroad Fair, and Spring Study Abroad Fair
Interns - can expect a flexible, engaging work environment. Ultimately, we want our interns to acquire valuable experience in a variety of events and also act as self-starters on any projects that interest them and support Global Education advocacy. This internship is Experiential Learning approved and will show on your EL transcript and it can also be utilized for internship course credit.
Spring Study Abroad Fair - The Event Planning Intern will assist with publicity, planning, exhibitor registration, soliciting food donations, making additional food purchases, and volunteer recruitment for the one-day event. They will also organize giveaway drawings and strategize ways to track attendance at the event.
Annual Open House – The Event Planning Intern will assist with publicity, planning, soliciting food donations, and volunteer recruitment for the one-day event. They will also create a handout with presentation information.
Fall Education Abroad Fair – The Event Planning Intern will be responsible for planning, publicity (in conjunction with PR Interns), exhibitor registration, event space layout, volunteers, food, and accounting for the 2-day event. They will also create folders with materials for the exhibitors and print nametags for exhibitors and volunteers. They will also organize giveaway drawings and strategize ways to track attendance at the event.
Our ideal candidate possesses:
- Strong event planning skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and proofreading skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Interest in international studies
Preference is given to 2nd and 3rd, year students majoring in Marketing and/or International Business in Terry College, Advertising & Public Relations in Grady College, or Hospitality and Food Industry Management in CAES.
The intern will:
- Work approximately 6-10 hours/week in our office;
- Attend OGE/Education Abroad training;
- Be a volunteer (no pay).
- Telework options available if necessary

- Bus stops include Memorial Hall, Chemistry, Physics, & Main Library
